Senator Rand Paul: 'Floor Speech in Defense of The Sixth Amendment'

"Sen. Rand Paul floor speech in defense of the Sixth Amendment"

From Senator Rand Paul

This is what a real Conservative and someone whose really against Big Government sounds like. Speaking up in defense of the U.S. Constitution and speaking out against indefinite detention. And that government in the United States doesn't have the constitutional authority to hold people, especially Americans, without a hearing or trial or access to a lawyer. As well as that every American has a constitutional right to a trial by jury.

TBS: WCW 1989- Ric Flair vs Terry Funk: I Quit Match (1989)

“Clash of the Champions IX 11 15 1989 Ric Flair vs Terry Funk I Quit match xvid”

From TBS

I don’t know if you can find four better pro wrestlers for a cage I Quit match than Ric Flair, Sting, Terry Funk and Mr. Muta. The amount of pain and even torture these four men were able to put themselves through because of their conditioning, physical strength and just character and courage was simply unmatched by almost anyone else who has ever been a pro wrestler. Two other guys I would thrown into this group would be Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker for the same reasons as these four men.

Ric Flair was seen as a classical if not classy pure wrestler who made most of his living just wrestling in the ring and not getting into street fights like this and most of that is true. But he beat the great Harley Race for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, a match where he may of lost on points, but beat Race in it. He was in a lot of cage matches, including with The Horseman against The Road Warriors and The Koloff’s and did very well in those matches. Sting could wrestle or fight anyone anywhere. It didn’t matter to him and Terry Funk was a street fighter who could wrestle. Similar to Mr. Muta.

Austin Peterson: Libertarianism VS Socialism

Source:Austin Peterson- debating Connor Kilpatrick on socialism and libertarianism.

"Libertarian Austin Petersen and Socialist Connor Kilpatrick of Jacobin Magazine debate

Austin Petersen, libertarian video producer, free market activist and entrepreneur takes on Connor Fitzpatrick over whether libertarians are just "Puppets of the corporate elite" or whether Americans are finally embracing both civil liberties and economic liberties. Sam Sacks on the Thom Hartmann show "The Big Picture" hosts."

This is a real debate to have, instead of debating socialism vs capitalism, which is not a real debate, because one is a political philosophy and one is an economic system with many versions, including a socialist model, thats common in Europe, including in Sweden and Greece two of the most socialist democracies in the World. Debating socialism vs capitalism is like debating what's a better car: an orange or an apple.

Having a debate between socialism and libertarianism is a real philosophical debate because it's a debate between two real political philosophies. Rather than a debate between an economic system and a political philosophy.

Socialism vs libertarianism is a debate between basically having much more government than would be common in a liberal democracy like America, or having a lot less government thats common in a liberal democracy.

"Everybody has opinions on international subjects, because the newspapers have opinions on them, and the readers like to be 'in the swim."' - Frank Chodorov

"All this concern about people who don't vote, for instance. Well, in Communist countries they get 98% or 99.4% of the eligible voters out to the polls, to vote for a single slate of candidates. Why so much concern with voting? I think it's because in Communist countries, politics is their religion." - Ron Paul, 1976"

Euro News: 'Israel Likud Party Leadership Primary Hampered by Technical Problems'

Source:Euro News- Jewish State of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and First Lady Sara Netanyahu.

"Euro News  Severe computer problems have delayed results of an election within Israel's right-wing Likud party to decide candidates for parliamentary elections in January.

Voting for the 123,000 party members was kept open for an extra two hours to compensate.

Despite the technical breakdowns at several polling stations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah were able to cast their ballots at a settlement north of Jerusalem.

Some candidates have called for the election to be postponed completely.  The electoral commission is also considering allowing an extra day of voting on Monday.

Political analysts are watching to see if the party leans further to the right because of public anger over last week's truce deal which ended Israeli airstrikes on Gaza."

Euro News: 'Cairo in Uproar Over President Mohamad Morsi's Plan to Rule by Decree'

"Euro News: Cairo is in uproar following President Mursi's announcement that he will rule by decree until a new parliament is installed.
Our correspondent Mohammed Shaikhibrahim is in the Egyptian capital:

"The protest transformed into running battle between police and demonstrators on Mohammed Mahmud Street. At least ten people have been injured and rushed to hospital. Police are firing tear gas rounds in an attempt to disperse the crowds.
Protesters say the demonstrations will escalate in coming hours and continue into the night.
Egyptian security forces have formed a cordon around the Interior Ministry to prevent the crowds from moving on the government building."

In other words: rule by executive order. Well, at least this will the give the Parliament more incentive to form and organize, so they can represent a check on President Morsi's power.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders: Social Security

Source:U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders- (Democratic Socialist, Socialist Republic of Vermont)
"Ronald Reagan was Right"

Senator Sanders and President Reagan perhaps agreeing on something for the only time in their lives, that Social Security is not the cause of our debt and deficits. Well, not really, because within 20-25 years if nothing is done to reform the program we're going to see more people collecting from Social Security than collecting from it.

Not sure what generation that Senator Sanders considers himself being a member of being born in late 1941, but having to deal with all of the cultural issues that every other Baby Boomer from the 1960s dealt with as young adults. But the Baby Boomers (and perhaps Bernie considers himself to be a member of) are going to eat away at the Social Security program. Even Senator Sanders has suggested reforms to it. Like lifting the cap on the amount of income that could be taxed to fund Social Security.

It is not just fiscal Conservatives who see issues with Social Security that should be addressed. Center-Left Democrats and others who are in Congress, as well as even Democratic Socialists like Bernie Sanders, who believe changes to the program need to be made, to make the program as strong as it needs to be.

“Italian Actress Sophia Loren – Boy On A Dolphin”

"When it comes to the Met Gala, Kim Kardashian knows how to bring the sexy, and this year was no different. On Monday, the 38-year-old reality TV star channeled"

Source:Pop Sugar- The Italian Goddess Sophia Loren, hot on water
From Pop Sugar

Sophia baby, as gorgeous, sexy and adorable as ever.

This scene in Boy On a Dolphin, reminds me of the opening scene in Lady in Cement with Frank Sinatra that came out in 1968. Tony Rome (played by Frank) is on his boat just off the Florida coast in Miami and jumps in the water to go scuba diving and sees a young blonde woman who is lifeless with her eyes opening at the bottom of the ocean. Actually, the only thing that that scene from Lady in Cement and this scene with Sophia Loren, have in common is that you have a young hot sexy women, wearing almost nothing and jumping in the water.

Lady in Cement is a very good and funny movie and it also features Raquel Welch, (worth the price of admission) Boy on a Dolphin minus Sophia doesn’t look like a very good movie. “A sponge diver on a sunken ship filled with artifacts, including a priceless ancient gold statue of a boy on a dolphin.”

You can see how the movie got its name and sure who doesn’t want to watch Sophia Loren in a bikini in the water. (Well, what straight man anyway) But that movie has been made before. And I think Sophia would be the only reason to see this movie.

EuroNews: 'Gazans Celebrate Victory Over Israel'

Source:Euro News- victory for Hamas?

"Euro News: Differences remain between Hamas and its political rival Fatah, but both sides are agreed that the ceasefire is a "victory" for the Palestinians.

Hamas's Gaza chief and prime minister has now urged all Palestinian militant groups to respect the accord.

"We have the great responsibility, as a government, to protect our people as well as this agreement in which the occupying state is committed."

Gazans have been savouring the calm and celebrating what appears to be an end, for now, of relentless Israeli bombing.

In a rare show of unity, the rival green and yellow flags of Hamas and Fatah have been waved side by side.

After days of hiding to avoid being hit, thousands of people have taken to the streets in jubilation, although doubts still exist as to whether this is just a short pause in the fighting."

Red State: Morton C. Blackwell: 'An Open Letter to Conservatives'

Source:Wikipedia- with a profile of Morton C. Blackwell.

"I had a very exciting time at the Republican National Convention.  My conservative allies and I all worked very hard in the presidential election.

When I woke up the day after the election, everything I had worked for appeared to be in ruins.  An extreme leftist had been reelected president of the United States.

Some liberal Republicans immediately began to blame newly activated conservatives for the presidential defeat.  I knew they were wrong.  It was clear to me that these newly active conservatives would be the key to major future victories for conservative principles.

The day was Wednesday, November 4, 1964.

The Republican nominee, Barry Goldwater, had suffered a crushing defeat.  He won just six states and 52 votes in the Electoral College.  But from the ashes of that loss sprang a vigorous conservative movement.

The conservative movement grew from modest beginnings to become a major force capable of nominating and electing candidates at the local, state, and national level, including Ronald Reagan.

Waves of newly activated conservatives elected Ronald Reagan, broke the Democratic monopoly in the Congress, and were decisive in the thrilling 2010 elections.  The influx of new conservatives greatly benefited the Republican Party then, as it has again in recent years.

It would be foolish for conservatives, defeated for now, to form a circular firing squad and start shooting at each other.  Each element of our coalition — limited government, free enterprise, strong national defense, and traditional values — has a long and strong background of working together.  These principles will lead to victories in the future as they have in the past, as recently as two years ago.

For those disappointed by the results of this year’s presidential election, remember that it is a long ball game.  Politics has a natural ebb and flow.

Now is the time to study the lessons of this election and to chart a course for conservatives to win in the future.  The stakes could not be higher.  The margins of victory in the public policy process may be smaller now than at any other time in American history.

Conservatives must reach out and identify philosophically compatible individuals among the types of people with whom leftist organizers have had the most success.

Seek out the reasonably conservative people, the younger the better, who happen to be in categories long-targeted for organization by the left, people who share our American view of individual rights rather than group rights.  Help them deepen their understanding of public policy issues.  Many have strong opinions they already share with us.  Then undertake systematic, persistent actions to recruit them into the public policy process, teach them political skills, and place them where they can be effective.

Work hard and wisely to increase the number and effectiveness of conservative activists in all categories of people.  Do all you can to advance and to protect them.  Their success will break the leftist organizers’ near monopolies among people like them.

In closing, let me share with you the most important lesson you will learn at any time in your life about success in the public policy process.

Being right in the sense of being correct is not sufficient to win.  The winner in a political contest over time is determined by the number and the effectiveness of the activists and leaders on the respective sides.

You owe it to your philosophy to study how to win.  You have a moral obligation to learn how to win.

That was the clinching argument Goldwater conservatives used to revive the power of conservative principles in America in 1964.  I know you will find it helpful today.

Conservatives can and will win big again in presidential elections.  But first we must learn from our experience, do what must be done, and study diligently to become ever more effective.

You have fought for good causes before.  I pray you’ll continue your fight for good causes now.  Victories may be just around the corner."

Washington Times: Robert Knight: 'Casting Blame at Religious Conservatives For Mitt Romney's Defeat'

Source:The Washington Times- Well, the Republican Party used to be the GOP, anyway.

"Like clockwork, traditional-values voters are being blamed for the failure of a moderate GOP presidential candidate.

This is the predictable consensus of liberal pundits but also some prominent conservatives. Never mind exit polls showing that conservative evangelical Protestants and devout Catholics combined gave Mitt Romney a higher percentage of their votes than George W. Bush in 2004 or John McCain in 2008. Somehow, it’s their fault that Mr. Romney lost.

In The Washington Post’s Sunday Outlook section, consultant Craig Shirley actually argued that because the GOP platform calls for a constitutional marriage amendment, “Obama now apparently holds the more correct conservative position on the marriage issue.”

Washington Times: Tim Devaney: 'Senate Finance Committee Economist Calls For 'Super Duper Committee'

Source:The Washington Times- columnist Tim Devaney.

"After the supercommittee’s failure in 2011, the Senate Finance Committee’s chief economist suggested this week Congress may turn to a new “Super Duper Committee,” in an effort to avoid the fiscal cliff, with dire consequences that are too big to fail.

“The supercommittee was like a can with nails, and we kicked it down the road,” Jeff Wrase, chief economist of the Senate Finance Committee, said on Friday. “Now, we have to construct an exploding can, so no one can kick it down the road again.”

The fiscal cliff is a series of massive spending cuts and tax hikes that take a drastic approach to reducing the deficit, which would hurt economic growth. The Obama administration and Senate Democrats have struggled to negotiate with House Republicans over a more reasonable solution to reducing the deficit."

Arcturus Reagan Designee: William Mcllhany Interviewing Christopher Story-: Communist Long Range Takeover Deception Strategy

Source:Arcturus Reagan Designee- William Mcllhany interviewing Christopher Story.

"Christopher Story - The Perestroika Deception (The McIlhany Report)
Since 1989 the world has been told that the Soviet Union collapsed and that, except for several countries, Communism is dead and the U.S. won the cold war.

The reality is quite the reverse. Everything we have seen since 1989 has been a massive and successful, multi-decade long deception strategy on the part of the KGB, the Soviet secret police.
The Goal? To deceive the West and achieve the goal of Leninist strategy - a totalitarian world government or international police state.

We know this from the evidence provided by Anatoly Golitsyn the most important defector from the KGB who came to America in 1961. In 1980 he wrote a book, "New Lies for Old," published in 1984, which described the disinformation strategy and made specific predictions as to what the KGB would do, such as removing the Berlin Wall, changing the name of the KGB and other structures and the role played by Mikhail Gorbachev."

This is a conspiracy theory if I've ever heard one. The idea that the United States and the brand new Federal Republic of Russia would set out to rule the world together, instead of America and Russia being enemies and trying to rule the world by themselves, is nonsense. (To be generous)

First of all, America is not an occupying power. We've never set out to occupy other nations and force them to live like us. (Except for perhaps Iraq and Vietnam)) When we defeated Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan during World War II, we were only there until they were able to govern themselves again, after we destroyed the government's there. And as messy as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have been, we are leaving both of those countries by 2014 and turning over complete control to the people in both countries to govern.

As far as Russia, the Soviets left Afghanistan in a complete mess economically and militarily. One of the reasons why Russia lost so many of their republics, the Baltic's and Caucus's, as well as Ukraine. And they were in no position by the time Boris Yeltzin became President of the Federal Republic to occupy anyone.

Russia twenty years later even though they are no way complete in being a democracy (liberal or socialist) and still has a lot of things they need to work on, politically and economically, are much better off than they have ever been. The Russian people are better off economically and have more freedom social and economically than they've ever had under the Putin Administration. But are in no position to be occupying anyone, even though they are on course to becoming an economic and military world power again, but this is no longer Soviet Russia.

The John Birch Society and other right-wing Nationalists, really should be in Hollywood and New York producing and writing fiction. Even though culturally they wouldn't fit in well in either community. Seeing minorities as invaders and wondering why women are free and not slaves for their men. (Ha, ha) They've never been taken seriously a mainstream media and documentary organization, because they produce so many far out theories that you almost have to be a mental patient to be qualified to take them seriously.

Washington Times: U.S. Senator Rand Paul: 'Ron Paul Revolution: GOP’s Last Best Hope, How To Save The GOP'

Source:The Washington Times- U.S. Representative Ron Paul (Libertarian, Texas) is retiring from the House, at the end of this Congress.

"Some argue that Ron Paul was never relevant, that he was simply a gadfly who never accomplished anything legislatively. Others, myself included, argue that maybe, just maybe, the Ron Paul Revolution is the last best hope for saving the GOP from oblivion.

As I walk through airports, ride in taxis and meet people in large cities — people of color, working-class people, people with tattoos, people in overalls, people with piercings and even, at times, people in suits — I am amazed at the diversity of folks who come up and say how much they admire Ron Paul.

At rallies around the country, from the liberal bastion of Berkeley, Calif., where 8,000 students came to an event, to Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University, kids from all over the political spectrum came to listen to Ron Paul."

The naysayers will point out: “He didn’t even win a primary.” This is true, but when polled directly against President Obama, Ron Paul ran neck-and-neck with an interesting demographic. In the heat of the campaign, a Feb. 28 Rasmussen poll showed him leading Mr. Obama, winning the independent vote, taking a significant part of the Democratic vote and losing a significant part of the Republican vote. He truly attracted voters across the political divide from both parties and from independents.

His colleagues in Congress would ask with envy, “How do you raise so much money from the youth? From the Internet?” The truth was much more revealing. College students, welders, carpenters, maids, blacks, whites and Hispanics latched onto Ron Paul’s unique message of fiscal conservatism, personal privacy and liberty and a less bellicose foreign policy, one of taking care of things at home before sending our soldiers and our money abroad. It is and was the message that attracted the youth, the message that combined the fiscal conservatism and limited constitutional government of Republicans and a more restrained foreign policy sometimes exhibited by Democrats."

Governor Bobby Jindal: 'End 'Dumbed-Down Conservatism'

Source:POLITICO- Governor Bobby Jindal (Republican, Louisiana)

"Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday called on Republicans to “stop being the stupid party” and make a concerted effort to reach a broader swath of voters with an inclusive economic message that pre-empts efforts to caricature the GOP as the party of the rich.

In his first interview since his party’s electoral thumping last week, Jindal urged Republicans to both reject anti-intellectualism and embrace a populist-tinged reform approach that he said would mitigate what exit polls show was one of President Barack Obama’s most effective lines of attack against Mitt Romney.

“We’ve got to make sure that we are not the party of big business, big banks, big Wall Street bailouts, big corporate loopholes, big anything,” Jindal told POLITICO in a 45-minute telephone interview. “We cannot be, we must not be, the party that simply protects the rich so they get to keep their toys.”

He was just as blunt on how the GOP should speak to voters, criticizing his party for offending and speaking down to much of the electorate.

“It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments — enough of that,” Jindal said. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”

From POLITICO

At least from what I read from Jonathan Martin's piece at POLITICO, sounds like what Governor Jindal is talking when he says that the Republican Party shouldn't be the, "stupid party" he means that they shouldn't be or just be the party of the rich and big business. Then apparently Governor Jindal made references to anti-intellectualism and science as well.

But if you want to look at the modern Republican Party, they're essentially a right-wing, populist, Protestant-Anglo-Saxon, blue-collar, rural and southern political party. With a lot of these folks looking down at people from big cities and metros, who not just have college educations, but multiples degrees, from multiple schools. They see the modern America, the diverse America, (I would argue the real America) as a threat to their way of life and culture.

Not every Republican obviously is an Anglo-Saxon-Protestant-fundamentalist, from either the deep south or from a very small town. Just look at who they nominated for President this year, but that by-in-large is who the Republican Party is today. Look at who they send to the U.S. House of Representatives and in many case to the U.S. Senate as well, who wins their governors races and serves in their state legislatures.

I agree with Bobby Jindal that for the Republican Party to remain competitive in the future, that it has to broaden its base. I don't now how you do that and keep the most loyal Republicans in the party today, which is it's populist, southern and rural, blue-collar base.

Channel 4 News UK: 'Lord Patten Says BBC News Needs Radical Overhaul'

Source:Channel 4 News UK- U.K. House of Commons member Harriet Herman.

"The Chairman of the BBC Trust, Lord Patten insists he won't be quitting but admitted it was his task to ensure the corporation "got a grip".

"Channel 4 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. Its headquarters are in London, with a National HQ[clarification needed] in Leeds, and creative hubs in Glasgow and Bristol.[1] It began its transmission on 2 November 1982, the day after Welsh language broadcaster S4C's launch. The channel was established to provide a fourth television service in the United Kingdom; at the time the only other channels were the licence-funded BBC One and BBC Two, and a single commercial broadcasting network ITV.

It is publicly owned and advertising-funded; originally a subsidiary of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA),[2] the station is now owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation, a public corporation of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport,[3] which was established in 1990 and came into operation in 1993. In 2010, Channel 4 extended service into Wales and became a UK-wide television channel."

From Wikipedia

As someone whose not British, I see the problems with BBC News again from 3000 miles away, as being too close to the UK Government and they need to be separated so the British know they are getting what's actually news. Rather than what the Conservative Government or whoever is in charge of the United Kingdom, telling the British what they want the British to know. Freedom of speech and an independent media is critical for any democracy, whether it's a liberal democracy or a social democracy like in Britain, so the people in the country are as well informed as possible.

Jack Hunter: 'Constitutional Conservatism'

Source:The Daily Caller- conservative blogger Jack Hunter.

"This is the third installment in Jack Hunter’s new Daily Caller video commentary series, “The Deal with Jack Hunter.” In this week’s installment, Jack argues that Rick Santorum’s insistence that the federal government should set national social policies threatens both our constitutional and moral values.

Jack Hunter (also known by his radio moniker the “Southern Avenger”) is a frequent guest on Fox Business, Michael Savage’s nationally syndicated radio program “The Savage Nation” and a frequent guest host on The Mike Church Show on Sirius XM. Hunter is the co-author of “The Tea Party Goes to Washington” by Sen. Rand Paul, assisted Sen. Jim DeMint with his book “Now or Never: How to Save America from Economic Collapse” and writes the Paulitical Ticker blog for the Ron Paul 2012 Campaign."

Source:The New American- conservative blogger Jack Hunter.

From The New American

"In a heavily Democratic state, Goldwater became a conservative Republican and a friend of Herbert Hoover. He was outspoken against New Deal liberalism, especially its close ties to labor unions. A pilot, amateur radio operator, outdoorsman and photographer, he criss-crossed Arizona and developed a deep interest in both the natural and the human history of the state. He entered Phoenix politics in 1949, when he was elected to the City Council as part of a nonpartisan team of candidates pledged to clean up widespread prostitution and gambling. The team won every mayoral and council election for the next two decades. Goldwater rebuilt the weak Republican party and was instrumental in electing Howard Pyle as Governor in 1950.

Goldwater's maverick and direct style had made him extremely popular with Republican Party's suburban conservative voters, based on the South and the senator's native West. Following the success of Conscience of a Conservative, Goldwater became the frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination to run against his close friend John F. Kennedy.[69] Despite their disagreements on politics, Goldwater and Kennedy had grown to become close friends during the eight years they served alongside each other in the Senate. With Goldwater the clear GOP frontrunner, he and Kennedy began planning to campaign together, holding Lincoln-Douglas style debates across the country and avoiding a race defined by the kind of negative attacks that were increasingly coming to define American politics."

Source:Wikipedia- Mr. Conservative U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater (Republican, Arizona)

From Wikipedia

Jack Hunter's brand of conservatism, is the same conservatism as Barry Goldwater's or Calvin Coolidge's or Warren Harding's conservatism, from the 1920s, perhaps even Robert Taft's conservatism from the 1940s, Gerald Ford's from the 1960s and 70s.

This conservatism is known as classical or constitutional conservatism, conservative libertarianism, that's based on limited government and that the government that works the best, does the least, meaning only what we actually need it do to and is the government that's closest to home. Instead of having a Federal solution to deal with every social and right-wing cultural war issue that the country is debating.

So when you have right-wing Christian populists like Rick Santorum or Michele Bachmann stand up and run for high office, promising to fight and win the Cultural War with big government, Federal programs and policies, the Jack Hunter's of the world stand up and say, no. There isn't a Federal solution to solve every issue that the Christian-Right in America sees as problems that country faces.

C-SPAN: 'Mitt Romney's 2012 Concession Speech'

Source:CSPAN- Governor Mitt Romney (Republican, Massachusetts) conceding the 2012 presidential election.
"Mitt Romney spoke to supporters at his presidential campaign headquarters in Boston and congratulated President Obama.  More information and results at:CSPAN."

Source:C-SPAN

Before I get into Mitt Romney's concession speech, I just want to mention the historic accomplishments of his presidential campaign:

First Mormon to win the presidential nomination in the United States and I believe the first Mormon to win the nomination for chief of state anywhere in the world. (Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure of that)

The first Republican to appoint an Irish Catholic or a Catholic of any ethnic or racial background in American history as Vice President in Paul Ryan.

The first Northeastern Republican to win the Republican presidential nomination since 1992 with President George H.W. Bush.

These are huge accomplishments for a Republican, especially considering how Southern and Evangelical the Republican Party has become.

As far as Governor Romney's concession speech, I gotta give him as much credit as possible. He was someone who was expecting to win, even though I'm guessing some Republicans if you asked them off the record, after seeing some of the non-Republican polls in the last few days were feeling that a loss was very possible. Which is why the Romney Campaign made a last minute play for Pennsylvania. They knew they were in trouble in Ohio and the Governor did an excellent job of thanking his vice presidential nominee in Representative Paul Ryan, thanking his staff, volunteers and everyone who voted for him.

Governor Romney mentioned the 50M plus Americans who wanted a change tonight, as well as congratulating President Obama and telling the country that the election is over and they need two work together to address the problems of the country.

Gata Bella: Barbara Walters Special- Sophia Loren Interview (1990)

"Sophia Loren Documentary and Interview. Interview with Barbara Walters, 1990."

From Gata Bella

Just look at Sophia Loren at this point in 1990. She is around fifty-six at this point and Barbara Walters looking very cute as always too, but Sophia Loren still a goddess at this point and looking great.

And if you look at how Sophia started out in Italy born in 1934 under the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and how poor she and her family were in Italy and during a war-time and not worrying about how they were going to eat everyday and would they not have a place to live and everything else that comes from the hell of extreme poverty and then what she made of herself, it is an incredible life. That seems to of only of come out of Hollywood.

Sophia goes from extreme poverty war-torn Italy under a horrible dictatorship, to Italian and Hollywood goddess within less than twenty-years. Who else could’ve accomplished this and accomplish everything that she has to being one of if not the top Hollywood goddess of all-time and one of the best actress’s, singers, perhaps even comedians who has ever lived. And all of this coming after the hellish start that she had in life, where she has a father that she almost didn’t know at all and who out her mother through hell as well.

Commentary: Seth Mandel- 'Is Paul Ryan the Leader of the Conservative Movement?'

Source:Wall Street Journal- U.S. Representative Paul Ryan: R, Wisconsin.
"When the Republican Party took back control of the House in 1994, a confluence of events combined to make it even more of a watershed moment than it would otherwise have been. The fact that the GOP had been out of power in Congress for four decades gave it an “underdog” storyline. Newt Gingrich, who [...]/p"

From Commentary Magazine

Assuming Mitt Romney loses tomorrow night and it hasn't happen yet, the Republican Party is going to have figure out where do they go from there, facing four more years of a Democratic President and at least two more years of a Democratic Senate.

Even if House Republicans hold the majority and a Democratic President who was reelected and if the economy takes off, which looks like it might in 2013 and the President avoids any serious scandals that can hurt his Presidency and popularity, perhaps popular reelected President who doesn't have to worry about reelection and will have the freedom to be more bold in the next two years, which is something Democrats were hoping for in the beginning.

So a reelected President Obama would have the authority to push an agenda that Republicans will of course disagree with that could have at least some popular elements in it and Republicans will have to figure out how to counter. President Obama under these circumstances.

Me as a Democrat and as an American would like to see the Republican Party get back to where they use to be. A fiscally and economically conservative party, as well as a socially moderate-tolerant Party, classical conservative even. Bring in the Ron Paul and Gary Johnson voters and be a real conservative party across the board which they aren't right now.

The modern Republican Party is an economically conservative party, thats more theocratic if not statist party on social policy. Something they tend to accuse Democrats of being on social issue. And aren't even very fiscally conservative, considering they believe that 1/6 of the. Federal budget, thats in one department, which is defense,  should be off the table in deficit reduction. And maybe Paul Ryan is that guy but I have my doubts.

Gata Bella: Sophia Loren- The Italian Goddess

Source:Gata Bella- The Italian Goddess Sophia Loren.

Source:The Daily Post

"Pictures of the magnificent Sophia Loren."

When I think of goddess’s Sophia Loren is in the top one-percent of all-time and if not number one all-time, you can certainly see number one from where she is. And yes a big part of what makes Sophia a goddess is physical with the hot baby-face, the tall curvy athletic voice, the incredible feminine native-Italian voice. The way she moves, the way she sings, the way she talks. The way she presented herself and the fact that she knew she had all of these incredible physical attributes.

So she has all of this going on for her, with women who see her and are always jealous of her. But in Sophia’s case, we’re talking about someone who is a great singer and a great actress. Who also just happens to be one of if not the best looking women of all-time. So we are not talking about a bimbo, someone who is great to look at and perhaps jump in the sack with. But with the guy wanting to get away from her as soon as possible before his wife or girlfriend or finds out.

But also because mentally the bimbo does nothing for him mentally, other than someone to make fun of. Sophia is a goddess, physically, professionally and mentally.

National Review: Piers Morgan Tonight- Rudy Giuliani vs Wes Clark: 'Don't Mess With Rudy'

Source:National Review- General Wes Clark, debating Mayor Rudy Giuliani on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight.
"Rudy Giuliani demolishes Wesley Clark on Piers Morgan last night."

From National Review

This is of course a very slanted video from National Review, with Mayor Rudy Giulani throwing out a lot of at best half-truths as it relates to President Obama and Libya, without hearing General Wes Clark's response to them. But the Romney Campaign has been going in this direction in the last few days, because they know they are behind in the Electoral College, President Obama is poised to win it with Governor Romney unable to take the lead in Ohio except for maybe in the Rasmussen Poll that leans Republican. And the Romney Campaign unable to pickoff a state that Democrats tend to win in at least lately, like Michigan and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for President.

So what the Romney Campaign knows what they have been doing in trying to convince Americans in these swing States that Mitt Romney would make a better President is not working, so what they are doing now is trying to scare Americans into voting for Mitt Romney, because whatever positive message they may have about Mitt Romney is simply not selling in the swing states that they need to win.

Right Coast: 'Disturbing Trends: Americans Aged 18-29 Have A More Favorable View of Socialism over Liberalism'

"( Zero Hedge ) - In the prior post, we showed a presentation that looked at America from the perspective of a corporation and how it would...

From Right Coast Conservative

I don't know if I buy this. Yes there are young leftists in America (Democratic Socialists) who look up to Socialists like Senator Bernie Sanders, Representative Dennis Kucinich. Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein and many other leftists and leftist groups. But there's also there's anti-big government mood in America of people who are under fifty or a little over even, that they don't want big government in their boardrooms and bedrooms and in their personal lives. As we are seeing with all the young people who now run or own small business's and startups.

Young business owners and managers don't like high taxes and regulations and would like more freedom to live their lives and handle their own affairs. As we are also seeing with how young people feel about tolerance as it comes to homosexuality, same-sex-marriage, even, how legalizing marijuana is now popular with my generation and people younger as. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson have picked up on in their presidential campaigns.

There is this anti-big government mood that even looks Anarchist with a lot of young Libertarians that follow Ron Paul. But thats not the movement that Gary Johnson has picked up on as the Libertarian Party presidential nominee. What his campaign is about is not gutting the Federal Government but making it leaner and making it more effective and less centralize. Not ending social insurance programs, but giving the people and States more power and flexibility and the ability to run them. Thats what he's running on. There are young leftists where socialism looks good to them. But to say thats where the mood of young people is right now, is I believe a big stretch as someone whose still young myself, relatively.

ABC News: 'Minister Compares Liberal leadership to Horse Race'

Source:ABC News- the climate minister for the Commonwealth of Australia.

"Climate Change Minister Greg Combet puts a new complexion on the Coalition front bench."

From ABC News

Politically, Australia is very different from America and political labels are a big example of that. Down under, Liberals and the Liberal Party is the Center-Right party in Australia. See, down under, Liberals, are well, Liberals. And the Center-Left party, the Labour Party that's now in charge there, are Social Democrats. See, down under, Socialists (Democrat Socialists and Social Democrats) aren't trapped in the closet, don't live in the closet politically. Because social democracy or democratic socialism, is popular down under. But so are the real Liberals and liberal democracy, people who would be called Classical Liberals in America. But they're just real Liberals and not Socialists, who call themselves Liberals instead.
